Porcine Serum

Normal serum provides a wide spectrum of growth factors, amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates, hormones and more which are required to support healthy cell growth and proliferation in culture, as well as the necessary endogenous proteins to saturate and block nonspecific binding sites on fixed samples or assay substrates. When used as an antibody diluent, non-immune serum also supplies a native chemical environment for antibodies to function properly without requiring the addition of foreign components. Porcine serum is also often referred to as Pig serum or Swine serum. Normal serum that is derived from the same or related species of animal as a tissue sample or from the host species of specific antibodies used in immunodetection method provides several properties that improve assay performance for immunodetection applications.

Fitzgerald Industries offers high quality Normal Pig Serum for use in immunoassays, which is Protease and IgG free. This particular porcine serum has been lipid extracted and dialyzed against 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2. We also offer other Pig Serum options which can be ordered in small or bulk quantitites

In addition, we offer purified Porcine Serum Albumin for use in ELISA, western blotting and SDS PAGE as a control or as a blockig solution. Why not search our website today to see our full range of animal serum products.
