His tag antibody

His tag antibodies are used routinely to detect his tagged proteins. A His tag, also known as a polyhistidine-tag or 6xHis-tag, is one of the most widely used conjugated epitope tags for recombinant protein expression and purification. The His-Tag is a series of 6 or more histidine residues used as a tag motif at the N- or C-terminus of proteins. The relatively small size of the his tag when compared to other commonly used tags such as FITC and biotin means it is less likely to interfere with the structure or function of the target protein. Its small size also makes it more suitable for use under denaturing conditions. His tags are most often used for affinity purification and binding assays.

Epitope tags such as polyhistidine offer researchers a simple and rapid means of localizing target gene products in a variety of cell types, in the identification of associated proteins and the formation of protein complexes as well as the study of newly identified, low abundance or poorly immunogenic proteins when protein specific antibodies are not available.

Fitzgerald Industries offers a wide selection of his tag antibodies and his tag proteins as well as antibodies to other major epitope tags.

Some of our most popular His tag antibodies include:

His Tag antibody -  This monoclonal His Tag antibody is affinity purified and recommended for use in ELISA and Western blot. It was raised using His17 as the immunogen.

His Tag antibody - This affinity purified rabbit polyclonal His Tag antibody is also recommended for use in ELISA and Western blotting. It was raised using HHHHHH-KLH as the immunogen.

His Tag antibody (HRP) - This HRP conjugated His Tag antibody gives excellent results in ELISA, Immunocytochemistry and Western blot applications, as shown below.

Detection of His-tagged protein by Western Blot. Samples: 200, 100, or 50 ng of E.coli whole cell lysate expressing a multi-tag fusion protein.Antibodies: Affinity-purified, HRP-conjugated,His Tagantibody 60R-1099 used for WB at 0.04 ug/ml (1:25,000). Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 3 seconds.
