BCIP/NBT Substrate (42-BC07)
Ready to use BCIP/NBT Substrate
Overview
Overview
| Applications | Dot Blot, WB |
|---|---|
| Assay Information | Optimal conditions to be determined by end user. This product should be allowed to equilibrate to room temperature (25C) prior to use. In membrane assays, use enough substrate solution to completely cover the membrane surface. When the substrate system reacts with phosphatase, a purple-blue reaction product is obtained. To stop the reaction, rinse membrane in distilled water. The reaction should be monitored and read before background color becomes too intense resulting in diminished contrast between positive and background staining. Dilution of the substrate is not recommended. To reduce the intensity of a reaction, it is recommended that the antibodies or conjugates be diluted. |
Usage & Assay Information

General Information
| Biological Significance | This AP Membrane Substrate contains 5-bromo-4-chloro-3-indolylphosphate and nitroblue tetrazolium. The substrate is a ready to use solution. Unreacted substrate should be colorless to light yellow in appearance. When this substrate system is reacted with phosphatase, an insoluble permanent dark blue-purple reaction product is obtained. This substrate product is not recommended for microwell or immunohistochemical applications. |
