Immunofluorescent staining of BDNF antibody (20R-BC001)
Staining of cryostat tissue sections of rat spinal cord using 7 ug/ml BDNF. Cells were stained using Goat anti-Chicken (rhodamine) secondary antibody and counterstained with Fluoro Nissl Green.

Immunohistochemical staining using BDNF antibody (20R-BC001)
BDNF was detected in perfusion fixed frozen sections of rat spinal cord (dilution 7 ugmL) overnight at 4 deg C. Tissue was stained (brown) and counterstained with hematoxylin (blue). Specific labeling was localized to spinal cord dorsal horn.
Store at 4 deg C for short term storage. Aliquot and store at -20 deg C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
General Information
Biological Significance
Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) is a member of the NGF family of neurotrophic factors. BDNF, NGF, NT-3, and NT-4/5 are required for the differentiation and survival of specific neuronal subpopulations in both the central as well as the peripheral nervous system. High levels of expression of BDNF have been detected in the hippocampus, cerebellum, fetal eye, and placenta.
