Images
Immunofluorescent staining of beta 2 Microglobulin antibody (20R-MR013)
Immunofluorescence microscopy using beta 2 Microglobulin antibody, showing detection of beta 2 microglobulin in HEK 293 cells. Cells were cultured in a six well plate and fixed with 2% paraformaldehyde for 15 minutes, then incubated with primary antibody diluted 1:200 overnight at 4 deg C. Following washing with DPBS, Donkey anti-Rabbit (Alexa Fluor 488) secondary antibody (1:1000) was used. An inverted fluorescence microscope equipped with differential Interference Contrast (DIC) mode was used to capture the image. beta 2 microglobulin, mainly on the cell surface but to some extent cytoplasmic, is stained green.

General Information
| Biological Significance | Beta2 microglobulin also known as B2M is a component of MHC class I molecules, which are present on all nucleated cells (excludes red blood cells). In humans, the Beta2 microglobulin protein is encoded by the B2M gene. |
