Immunofluorescent staining of Coronin 1a antibody (70R-10642)

Dissociated cell culture from a neonatal mouse brain showing Coronin 1a (green staining) of microglial cells. These cultures were counter-stained with rabbit antibodies against NFM (neurofilament, red staining), a neuronal marker, as well as DAPI (blue staining), a marker of nuclei. General Information

Biological Significance Coronin 1A may be a crucial component of the cytoskeleton of highly motile cells, functioning both in the invagination of large pieces of plasma membrane, as well as in forming protrusions of the plasma membrane involved in cell locomotion. In mycobacteria- infected cells, its retention on the phagosomal membrane prevents fusion between phagosomes and lysosomes. Belongs to the WD repeat coronin family.
