General Information
| Biological Significance | FUCA1, also known as tissue alpha-L-fucosidase, is responsible for hydrolyzing the alpha-1,6-linked fucose joined to the reducing-end N-acetylglucosamine of the carbohydrate moieties of glycoproteins. Fucosidosis is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disease resulting from absence of alpha-L-fucosidase activity. Recombinant human FUCA1, fused to His-tag at C-terminus, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. |
