GAPDH antibody was raised in sheep using a 12 amino acid synthetic peptide (HQVVSSDFNSDT) representing the most conserved region of human and rat GAPDH conjugated with KLH as the immunogen.
Aliquot and store at -20 deg C. Avoid repeated Freeze/Thaw cycles.
Biohazard Information
This product contains sodium azide (NaN3), a chemical highly toxic in pure form. At product concentrations, though not classified as hazardous, NaN3 may react with lead and copper plumbing to form highly explosive build-ups of metal azides. Upon disposal,
General Information
Biological Significance
Glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is an enzyme that catalyzes the sixth step of glycolysis and thus serves to break down glucose for energy and carbon molecules. In addition to this long established metabolic function, GAPDH has recently been implicated in several non-metabolic processes, including transcription activation, initiation of apoptosis, and ER to Golgi vesicle shuttling.
