|Biological Significance||IMPA2 belongs to the inositol monophosphatase family. This protein can use myo-inositol monophosphates, scylloinositol 1,4-diphosphate, glucose-1-phosphate, beta-glycerophosphate, and 2'-AMP as substrates. IMPA2 has been implicated as the pharmacological target for lithium Li(+) action in brain. IMPA2 is thought to play a role in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Recombinant human IMPA2 protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.|
