Insulin receptor beta subunit antibody was raised in mouse using a 15-mer synthetic peptide corresponding to aa Tyr-KKNGILTLPRSNPS from the C-terminal of human insulin receptor beta-subunit as the immunogen.
This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling.
General Information
Biological Significance
The human insulin receptor is a heterotetrameric membrane glycoprotein consisting of disulfide-linked subunits in a Beta- alpha- alpha-Beta configuration. The Beta-subunit (95 kDa) possesses a single transmembrane domain with tyrosine kinase acivity, whereas the alpha-subunit (135 kDa) is completely extracellular.
