Chicken myosin. Reacts with myosin-containing elements in most cell types.
Cross Reactivity
Chicken, human, mouse, rabbit. Reacts with a 75kDa part of the heavy chain (epitope location on a myosin-common site-chain). No reaction with light chains. It is not reactive with alpha-cardiac myosin.
Applications
IHC, WB
Immunogen
Myosin antibody was raised in mouse using chicken muscle cells as the immunogen.

General Information
Biological Significance
Myosins are a large superfamily of motor proteins that move along actin filaments, while hydrolyzing ATP. About 20 classes of myosin have been distinguished on the basis of the sequence of amino acids in their ATP-hydrolyzing motor domains. The different classes of myosin also differ in structure of their tail domains. Tail domains have various functions in different myosin classes, including dimerization and other protein-protein interactions.
