General Information
| Biological Significance | RSV is a negative sense RNA paramyxovirus in which the major virus neutralization antigens are the glycoprotein (G) and the fusion (F) protein that mediate attachment and fusion to the host cell during virus infection, respectively. Other RSV proteins include the nucleocapsid protein (N) and the M2 protein. The two major subgroups of RSV are A and B with the A strain being more virulent and responsible for the majority of severe RSV infections. |
