General Information
| Biological Significance | Thyroxine is the major hormone secreted by the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. TBG binds and transports T3 and T4. It is rarely measured but is used to control levels of T3/T4 uptake in serum. T3/T4 uptake is an important measure of thyroid function or thyroid associated diseases. |
