| Specificity | Human |
| Applications | FC |
| Assay Information | A test is defined as the amount (ug) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 ul. Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 105 to 108 cells/test. It is recommended that the antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest |

Flow Cytometric analysis using TNF alpha antibody (PE) (61R-1415)
Normal human peripheral blood cells were stimulated with PMA and Ionomycin in the presence of Brefeldin A for 5 hours. The cells were surface stained with CD4 antibody (FITC) and intracellularly stained with TNF alpha antibody (PE).

General Information
| Biological Significance | The MAb11 antibody reacts with human tumor necrosis factor- alpha, a 17 kDa cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, NK cells and CD4 T cells. TNF- alpha has cytolytic activity against a range of tumor cells and is important in immune regulation. TNF- alpha forms dimers and trimers and also exists as a 26 kDa membrane bound form. The MAb11 antibody is a neutralizing antibody. |
