General Information
| Biological Significance | Trypanosoma cruzi is transmitted to humans by the Reduviid bug. Infection causes the host to contract Chagas’ disease, or American trypanosomiasis, which is an important cause of cardiovascular and gastrointestinal disease in South America. These antigens are a cocktail of three geographically distinct strains. |
