Polyclonal Vimentin protein antibody, Anti-Vimentin protein antibody, VIM antibody
Applications
ICC, IHC, WB
Immunogen
Vimentin protein antibody was raised in Chicken using three synthetic peptide (Human NP_003371 and Mouse NP_035831) / keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) conjugates corresponding to different regions of the Vimentin gene product as the immunogen.
Immunofluorescent staining of Vimentin protein antibody (70R-10648)
Cultured dissociated cells from an e13 mouse brain), vimentin (green staining) forming the cytoskeleton of immature astrocyte progenitor cells. DAPI (blue staining) allows visualization of nuclei.

Immunohistochemical staining using Vimentin protein antibody (70R-10648)
Tissue section through an e18 mouse cerebellum with vimentin (brown staining) seen in immature astrocytes of the white matter, as well as in vascular endothelial cells.

General Information
Biological Significance
Vimentin is one of the five major groups of intermediate filaments, a distinct class of cytosekeltal proteins, occurring in mesenchymal cells. Localized vimentin can be detected in fibroblasts, endothelial cells, lymphoid tissues, and melanocytes.
